The first official drawing project we had was to draw natural landscapes, or a mixture of both natural and urban (Oxford) landscapes.
The first exercise was to produce a still life drawing of objects you would find in the woodland, e.g branches, dried leaves e.t.c. We did this using charcoals, chalks, and white emulsion paint to add texture. |
In preparation for our final piece, we went on two field trips, one to Sutton Park just down the road, and another to Oxford, where we had to produce at least 6 drawings for each. |
Here is my final piece where I have included one of the churches I saw in Oxford hidden behind a dense gathering of trees from Sutton Park. It is again A0 and done in charcoal. I am pleased with how this has turned out since the trees slowly getting darker as you move further in give it an eerie atmosphere. |
