Vis Comm- Scary Monsters, Super Creeps

Now Vis Comm (Visual Communications) was a unit which I didn't quite get the hang of at the beginning. However, by the end of it I did feel that I had improved my confidence and skills on a Mac and I always enjoy learning something new. Our project as seen above was 'Scary Monsters, Super Creeps' and we had to create an advertisement and mascot for either Subway; H&M or The Carphone Warehouse.

Meet Mikey Meatball the jolly dancing meatball sub a.k.a my character for this project, but before I could start working on him, I first had to draw him out in my sketch book and then scan the drawing into the Mac to be edited on Photoshop.

I then began to get to work bringing my little monster sandwich to life!

And here he is, all set up and ready to be put into some advertisements.

I'm not quite sure how good the quality will be for this, but here is an animation I made featuring Mikey, who starts off dancing, but doing so he ends up losing one of his meatballs. A sign then comes up saying "Can You Find The Missing Meatball?" and then the Subway logo comes up, therefore ending the animation.

One of the main things we looked at during this project was subliminal messaging used in advertisement, which is why the next thing I created was a poster to encourage more people to go to Subway.
DID YOU SPOT THE OPTICAL ILLUSION?
I repeated the word and twice deliberately to draw even more attention to the sign.

After creating my poster I then looked at what my poster would actually look like in a Subway shop window. I changed the brightness and added in more posters so that it would blend in more.
